PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Sports Medicine and Kinesiology Study Abroad in Greece Program was developed in order to immerse students in a cultural experience related to the fields of study in Sports Medicine and Kinesiology.  The faculty leaders of this program are collaborating with CIS Abroad to offer this program to students at West Chester University.  Students enrolled in both Sports Medicine and Kinesiology majors will be invited to take part in this program.  The main purpose of this study abroad program is two-fold; students will:
  1. Expand their knowledge and understanding of the fields of sports medicine and kinesiology outside of the United States
  2. Increase their cultural competence by engaging and immersing in the Greek culture.
This program will provide unique experiences to students interested in the fields of sports medicine and kinesiology, and will include both academically-driven professional experiences as well as cultural experiences within Greece.  These experiences include visiting Delphi to see the ancient ruins, touring and engaging in several sports medicine and kinesiology clinics and facilities across and outside of Athens, and an excursion to picturesque islands in the Saronic Gulf, among several other opportunities.
