Please note the following information, which will help you to understand the relationship and benefits.

All IAU Programs

Application forms

  • Submit all application materials directly to IAU.

  • Students should meet with their WCU academic advisors to get their courses pre-approved for degree credits.  The WCU study abroad course selection sheet should be signed and kept for future reference.

  • PLEASE NOTE:  Before meeting with WCU academic advisors, print out individual course descriptions/syllabi from the CIS website and find out if they are considered beginner (lower division) or advanced (upper division) course work.

WCU Registration

Students on any IAU program will be registered at WCU while abroad, which means WCU students:

  • Stay active in the myWCU system while abroad

  • Use WCU financial aid (loans or grants) for IAU program fees

  • Are still eligible to use WCU priority scheduling and email

  • DO NOT need to take a Leave of Absence with the Registrar's Office

Program fees and payments

  • Current IAU program fees can be found on the IAU website.

  • All program fees (application fee, program deposit, and final charges) are paid to IAU.

  • WCU loans and grants can be used to cover these expenses.

  • A WCU non-refundable registration fee is charged for all affiliate programs.  This fee will be charged approximately 30-45 days prior to the first day of classes to your account and will not be removed once posted.

  • WCU registration fee:  $100

  • The WCU Registration fee is an administrative fee charged to all study abroad students on partner programs.  In addition to the Study Abroad Office services outlined on this page, it also allows students to use all of the campus resources while abroad (e.g. email, financial aid, pre-registration access, library services, and so on).

  • IAU sends transcripts directly to the CIP after the program ends.

  • CIP will submit the transcripts to the WCU Registrar.

  • CIP will maintain photocopies of the transcripts and they will be available for student and academic advisor questions, as needed.

  • Please contact IAU directly for issues related to discrepancies on the IAU transcripts.

Other CIP Services

  • Administrative help from CIP Regional Advisors and financial team

  • WCU scholarships and tuition waivers automatically deferred while student is abroad and will be re-instated upon return

  • Office of Financial Aid receives a list of students on IAU programs to help with loan administration and oversight.
