Program Description:
Program Description:
West Chester University Global Ambassadors are WCU students selected by the Center for International Programs (CIP) to promote education abroad/global learning and travel experiences. Selected students will propose a project that they wish to complete each semester and will work on executing their projects (with assistance from CIP). Global Ambassadors will hold 1 office hour per week in the CIP office where they will work on their projects and offer peer mentorship to prospective study abroad students.

WCU Global Ambassadors are recognized by WCU for their contributions to campus life. They are leaders among their peers and enthusiastically enrich aspiring study abroad students. All selected students must be available for a training session during the week of September 10th.

WCU Global Ambassadors:
  • Promote study abroad and other international experiences on campus.
  • Share information about international opportunities and their own experiences with WCU students.
  • Build connections and help their peers develop an international scope to their academic and extra-curricular experience at WCU.
  • Participate in year-round programs such as study abroad fairs, International Education Week, pre-departure meetings, and other related events (with the support and guidance from the CIP study abroad office).
  • Assist the CIP study abroad staff with study abroad programming and events on campus.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Current West Chester students in good academic and disciplinary standing.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • At least one international experience through WCU, a WCU-affiliate, or other CIP approved program.
Program Benefits
  • Great resume builder.
  • Develop transferrable skills that would be attractive to future employers such as cross-cultural knowledge, presentation skills, experience working in an internationally focused office, etc.
  • Continuation of the international experience and the opportunity to network with other WCU students and staff with similar interests.
  • $500 stipend ($250/semester)
  • An end of the academic year luncheon.
Project Proposal
As part of the application, applicants will be asked to propose a project they would like to work on throughout the course of the year.
