Program Description:
This program is part of the M.Ed in Reading program. Students can enroll in EDR 512 or EDR 532 as this will be a combined course.  It will run for four weeks during Summer II. The first week of the course will be held on WCU's main campus and the following three weeks in Belize City.  While in Belize, graduate students will tutor a child who is experiencing difficulty in literacy at Belize Elementary School in Belize City Monday-Thursday 9:00-11:00am and attend seminar until noon. Dr. Santori, the professor for the course, will be there with the students for the duration of the course. We will also go on two group excursions as part of this program.

All participants on this program will rent shared apartments for the duration of the program in Belize.
English (no prior foreign language experience required for participation in this program)
All participants will earn credit for either EDR 512 OR EDR 532.

In addition to the regular WCU tuition rates for the three credit hour course, all participants will be billed the non-refundable $100 study abroad application fee upon applying to the program and will be required to purchase WCU's mandatory international insurance prior to departure. 

Additional costs for this program include:
Round-trip airfare (estimated at $750)
Housing ($700-$1,100 estimated)
Meals (estimated at $400)
Excursions & In-country transportation (estimated around $450)
