 This program is for world language majors (French, German, Russian, or Spanish) seeking teacher certification in the Department of Languages and Cultures. Students are pre-selected by the program director, Dr. Keith Corbitt. Interested students should contact Dr. Corbitt at

The tenative program dates for 2018 are March 19- March 25 and April 7 – May 10, 2018. The Kathe-Kollwitz Grammar School has two weeks of Easter Vacation (Monday March 26 – Friday, April 6). During this time, participants may choose to travel or to stay in Munich with their homestay family. The homestay family will not provide meals during this time, however.

All participants will pay WCU their regular tuition rates for the 6 credit hours taken on this program (EDS 412). In addition, all students will be charged a $100.00 study abroad application fee upon applying to this program. All participants will also be required to purchase WCU’s mandatory international health insurances (approximately $100). On-site programs costs are 500.00 Euros (Approximately $500.00 US), which includes housing for 6 weeks, two meals a day (breakfast and dinner), internet services and laundry services. Transportation to and from school is not provided, but reliable public transportation can be had for about 60.00 Euros a month. Other out-of-pocket costs include round-trip airfare, all additional meals, weekend excursions, and personal spending.
Because this experience is part of a regular spring semester term, students shoudl be able to utilize their regular Financial Aid packages to assist with the costs of this program.
